Note: I had to correct my own illusion! I originally write that Monday’s full moon is is Pisces but it is in Cancer. Enjoy this corrected newsletter.
Anchor yourself in truth and possibility. Even in uncertain times, your next step will reveal itself.
This week brings a heavy heart for many as we watch vast areas of Los Angeles ravaged by devastating fires. As a Southern California native, my heart breaks in countless ways for the victims of this tragedy and for the mounting crises that a rapidly changing climate continues to bring. These events feel like harbingers of what is to come—and while we cannot control the weather, we can control our actions. There are many ways to help, both for this immediate disaster and for those that will inevitably follow. The internet, in this way, becomes a powerful resource—drawing us together into a global community of support and mutual care.
Yet, this same technology can also become a minefield. Social media, especially, is fertile ground for misinformation, conspiracy theories, and fear-based narratives. As Pluto begins its transformative 20-year transit through Aquarius, we are entering a time where the way we relate to technology, information, and community will undergo massive shifts. We’re already seeing the effects of this shift in the recent decision to end fact-checking on Meta’s platforms—a troubling development that speaks to the blurry boundaries between reality and illusion in our digital spaces.
Monday’s full moon in Cancer offers an opportunity to sit with these themes and reflect on our relationship to reality. Cancer is a deeply nurturing and protective sign, ruled by the Moon itself—emphasizing emotional awareness, intuition, and the importance of home and family. While Cancer energy is often associated with security and comfort, it also teaches us the power of resilience during uncertain times. This full moon invites us to consider how we can anchor ourselves in emotional truth while navigating the changing tides of life.
The North Node of destiny has recently entered Pisces as well, amplifying themes of perception, confusion, and imagination. (For a deeper dive into the themes of this nodal shift, check out astrologer Aliza Kelly’s article for The Cut.)
When the stream of information and images becomes overwhelming, it’s okay to turn away for a moment. Ground yourself. Anchor yourself in what is real and tangible. Ask: What is the next right step? What needs to be done to move toward the future we envision? What action will ensure the response?
The Page of Swords brings guidance during this time of swirling ideas and conflicting narratives. This card invites us to consider fresh perspectives and approach situations with curiosity and openness. The Page represents youthful energy—a willingness to ask questions, explore new ideas, and challenge outdated assumptions. Sometimes, children can offer insights that adults, burdened by cynicism and preconceived notions, overlook. This innocent clarity can help us unlock new ways forward.
However, the Page of Swords also cautions against detachment from reality. The mind, when overwhelmed by too much information, can slip into worry and paranoia. It’s important to keep one foot in the tangible, lived human experience while allowing our imaginations to explore new possibilities. This balance between vision and action is essential in our rapidly changing world.
Beware of conspiracy theories and the allure of unrealistic expectations. Instead, channel the Page’s energy to cut through confusion and reconnect with what’s true and meaningful in your own life. We are capable of envisioning a better world just as easily as we may envision one decimated by climate disaster. Allow hope to guide the way forward with small, concrete, actionable steps that keep you focused on a more positive future.
Reflection Questions:
Where in my life am I allowing illusions to cloud my vision? How can I ground myself in what is real?
How can I balance curiosity and skepticism when engaging with new ideas or information?
What small, tangible action can I take this week to move toward the future I want to create?
