New Moon Missive - October Studio Update
Updates on new decks and current projects from my studio.
On this Aries full moon, I’m popping in to deliver some studio updates on current projects and upcoming decks!
New Decks Available
Here are some new decks I’ve released since my last studio update:
The Lit Birds Oracle
A cute, square deck featuring quotes from classic literature paired with colorful collage and vintage bird images.
The Vintage Rose Oracle
A mini square deck featuring the botanical rose illustrations of Pierre-Joseph Redouté. Each card has a positive affirmation keyword.
Coming Soon!
The Groovy Magic Oracle
It’s ALMOST ready! The Groovy Magic Oracle is ready for release as soon as I finish writing the full length guidebook. This has been such a long and difficult project for me, but I do like the finished result and I hope it appeals to the vintage vibe witches out there! Coming very soon, so watch my IG for updates!
The Hearth and Home Tarot
I’ve ordered a proof copy of the Hearth and Home Tarot deck. This is my first mint tin tarot deck. The cards are smaller that standard size and come in a cute mint tin for easy travel. In order to make the cards and insert fit correctly in the larger mint tin, I added four new cards to the major arcana for this deck:
And here are the Aces from each minor suit:
This is such a warm, comforting and fun deck, I can’t wait to “meet” it in person!
Home Blessings Oracle
Another deck that’s in the works is the Home Blessings Oracle. This deck will be similar in size and shape to the Lit Birds Oracle. I am using home and garden and cooking magazines as source material for the collages. When the backgrounds are done, I’m going to create tiny “spells” from found text that will appear on each card. This is one of the “sheets” or collage that will end up as four separate cards in the final deck:
Coastal California Oracle
A project that came together relatively quickly is the Coastal California Oracle. This deck pulls together 54 different plants and animals of the California coastal ecosystem. I’ve wanted to do a deck like this for a long time but couldn’t figure out quite the right format. My creative cycles can be sort of "boom and bust” but once I figured out how I wanted each card to look, the design of this deck came fairly easily. I can’t wait to get this one cleaned up, edited, and ready for printing!
The Tiny Tarot
I need to go back and finish the minor arcana for the Tiny Tarot, a mini square tarot deck that I devised after reading online that some readers were looking for smaller, more easily handled decks. This is a very simple deck with minimal illustration that I hope will be a fun addition to my Tarot offerings:
The ?? (Maybe Wild Companion Oracle?)
And finally, here is a new deck I’ve been playing around with. The cards are oriented horizontally instead of vertically. It’s similar to the Birds of a Feather and Lit Birds decks in that it uses vintage images of animals with collage elements in the background. I love how fun and vibrant it is!
That’s it for now! Thank you for reading, following, and supporting my work.
With Love,
Sara
