Break on through to the other side.
On Monday, the sun enters Pisces, the twelfth and final sign of the zodiac. We have reached the end of a cycle, another wheel of the year has turned, and we find ourselves in the mutable water of change as we transition from winter to spring. This week, Mercury also enters Pisces and we cap things off with a full moon in Virgo.
Weekly Collective Reading 2/18 - 2/24/24
Embrace: Strength (rev) + chill out
“Put down that weapon or we'll all be gone
I must know something to know it's so wrong
And it happens to be an emergency
Some things aren't meant to be, some things don't come for free”
-Midnight Oil
There may be something in your current circumstance that you feel responsible for but that is really not up to you to take care of. Either someone else needs to step up, or you need to tackle the problem as part of a larger team or community. Remember that strength is more than just brute force — it is also patience, discernment, and using a gentle touch when necessary in order to manage the forces at play. Trust that there may be a different way to get the results you desire, and consider taking a step back to reevaluate your strategy for success.
Release: Eight of Cups + fire up
“Oh, my life
Is changing every day
In every possible way
And oh, my dreams
It's never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems”
-The Cranberries
On the other hand, there is something at play here that you may want to walk away from but that requires your continued energy and attention, at least for a little while longer. Perhaps it is a project that you can finish in order to set it free. If abandoning something would leave you feeling trapped and ill at ease, that is a sign that you need to either bring it in for a more graceful landing or see it on toward it’s next destination. Don’t abandon course midway through. I’m not one to advocate for sticking with the original plan no matter what happens, so remember the mutable energy of the season and find a way to reach a conclusion by altering your desired outcomes or expectations to better meet your current needs.
Advice from Spirit: The Emperor (rev) + show off
“Hang on to your ego
Hang on, but I know that
You're gonna lose the fight”
-The Beach Boys
Humility is the name of the game this week. Our advice from spirit is to remember that we do not always have all the answers. We must remember to be open to other possibilities and perspectives. There is not much to be gained by bragging about being the smartest, most skilled, or most powerful person in the room. Instead, think about what you have to gain by listening to and learning from others. Our first wo cards this week connect to the energy of adjusting plans and updating expectations. Holding on too rigidly to your existing worldview may keep you from seeing an important answer that may help you understand things in a valuable new light.

Sun enters Pisces 2/18
Monday, the sun enters the sign of the fish. Ruled by Neptune, the watery depths of Pisces invite us to explore our dreams, our subconscious, and our illusions about existence. This is a time to ponder the mysteries of life, but it is also a time to let the waters of time wash away the last remnants of stagnant energy from the previous year’s cycle. This is the time when we release our grip on what we know and prepare to begin the journey of the fool all over again come springtime. Use this spread to explore some of the themes of the season.
Mercury enters Pisces 2/23
Mercury enters Pisces toward the end of the week. Like a drop of water that has condensed and fallen into the ocean, our thoughts and ides crystallize and then are dissolved into the sea of greater consciousness. Mercury in Pisces is dreamy, intuitive, and curious about exploring the unknown. While communication might seem confusing and hazy during this time, it is a good opportunity to explore ways of knowing that are outside of our traditional definitions of learning and experience.
Full moon in Virgo 2/24
On the magical date of 2.24.24 we experience a full moon in Virgo. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, giving the last part of the week an even deeper focus on ideas and communication. The moon in Virgo is sensitive and intuitive. It also craves structure, and is interested in the habits that help us create a healthy life. Use this spread to explore the themes of organization and structure that this lunation brings.
Poem of the Week
From The Studio
I finished the rest of the major arcana for the tarot deck I’ve been working on. Still calling it the “Graphic Tarot”. Any suggestion for a name would be much appreciated!
